Entry #21

*There is the patient voice of an older woman, with a nabooian accent, speaking, as the recorder comes online. Also, in the background, the sound of a small sewing tool can be heard at short intervals.*

Are you sure you want to do this yourself, dear? It would be much quicker if you'd let me help you with the pinning, at least.

*Only now do you hear the familiar chuckle belonging to the owner of the log, as she responds.*

I'm definitely sure, Arden. Your doing the same thing you did when I learned to cook.

Ha, and we all know what a lovely cook you are.

Yeah, you got a point. I'm not changing my mind, though. Besides, I know this pattern by heart. *The sound of the sewing tool ceases for a moment, and the rustling of fabric can be heard.* See? The tunic's finished, already. Look at it, and see if I've made any mistake. .... Pretty good, huh? I admit, it is better than your last cooking attempt. Not a rip, or mis-matched seam in sight. Stars, how can you even do it? The force guides me....   heh, not to mention I wasn't a half bad seamstress before I lost my sight. I am entitled to at least one domestic proficiency.

*Their footsteps make a dull tapping sound as they travel up the stairs. When they stop, the sound of a roaring fire lurks in the background. An eerie whistling interferance is, somewhat distorting the sounds and voices on the recording. Presently, the sound of a boiling liquid can be heard, and there's a distinct splash, then the sound of steam whooshing from the fire. The interferance becomes stronger, creating at short intervals a scrambled electronic sound.*

   Not much longer, now.....

*After a final burst, the sound of the steam ceases, and the intereferance dies down to a quiet whistle. You can hear crossed between a metallic tapping and rustling, followed by the sound of an Iron Fingernail being run across the surface of the same object. Rather than the metal-on-metal screeching, it's more like a stone-on-stone ringing.*

Beautiful.. The scales lock just as they should.. and this treatment should withstand anything. I hope.. it will be enough. Ahhh...  Nyx... I understand, now, why you wanted to do it yourself. I'm sure Jaelon will appreciate it. I thought you might....

What's that light from your pocket?

*END*
