*You can hear the clink and clatter of Nyx-Warda gearing up to go somewhere, as she makes the recording.*
Fathuran came by just now. He came to give me a new security pass- it seems I've skipped level three, and have been upgraded to level four. While I'm glad of this, I was hoping maybe he wanted to see me for a different reason, as well, but he was all business. I wondered, among other things, what Enemy's fate had been scince last night. Have I introduced Enemy? Apperantly it was his ship Ryan and the others and I were picking apart. He was an imperial agent, I understand, who was shot down, and taken prisoner. I later learned he defected to the alliance for the love of a woman. He's been roaming around Virantis, and I've talked to him a couple times.
Last night, he did something to set Fathuran off. It must have been something serious, because when Muaarga and I went to see what was going on, Fath seemed about ready to kill him. I think he tried to attack Fathuran. Not a good idea. Soon after the two left the building, I could hear reports over the comm. channel of an "Organic projectile" being thrown into one of the barriers. ... ... The imagination can provide some pretty vivid imagery. Poor Enemy. He lived through that, I'm sure, because I guess Fathuran took him back to the prison afterward.
Meanwhile, Muaarga and I were unsure if we should help him. I know that sounds cruel.. Muaarga wanted to intervine, I know. He was worried for Enemy's life- not that he liked him, or knew him, or even sided with him, I think, but for the simple fact that he was a sentient being who's life was in danger. I know also that he didn't want Fathuran to act in anger. I didn't want to go against Fathuran... and by extension all of Virantis... especially considering all that I owed. However, when Muaarga suggested that we at least talk to Fathuran, I followed his lead. When we got to the prison, Fath and Enemy were already inside. When our passes denied us entry, Muaarga searched for other methods of entrance. I had to protest then. If we entered by force, we would not only have signed our death-warrent, we would have broken the alliance we had with Virantis, and lost a trusted friend in Fathuran. ....to rescue one who had done the same. Presently, Fathuran himself emerged from the building, insisting that we leave. We left.
Is a loyalty more important than a life? Muaarga and I talked about it afterward. I could tell it bothered him.. yet.. some things are bigger than one life.. and the repercussions of our actions would have hurt several lives, I think. For one, I thought of Ryan- someone welcomed into the city because he was my friend. If I proved untrustworthy, would his life be in jeapordy? I thought of Fathuran himself. He's just found out he may be strong with the force. I was hoping to invite him to the White Thunder network.. surely he could use it if he really want to persue this.. but again.. would it too be guilty by association? I thought of the infighting among allies that I have witnessed in the past.. the kind that caused good organizations to splinter and fall apart, taking the good work they did with them. No. Not here. Not like this.
*At this moment, Muaarga's voice can be heard low, and hard to distinguish, over the comm. The words "Tuskens" "Toydarian" and "Sain" can be heard in the static jumble.* Nyx-Warda, do you copy? *Is the clearest bit before it cuts out. A clank of gear... A thunk of her staff... Some quick steps and rustling...*
