*The buzzing of lights, and low beeping of some moniters can be heard in the background.*
Keren just came by. Scared me something feirce, but then when he explained what really happened.. well I'm still worried, but I'm glad it wasn't what I thought.
First of all, he's killed Aliya. He said it was "over", well she's dead, so she can't do much I suppose, but it seems there are some aftershocks from the battle. Oh. That's a bit of a poor choice of words, scince Keren's remaining injuries come from some nasty force-lightning. He started having seizures, called to Diana to help him, and the two ended up in a dangerous mindscape in which they fought a dark version of Keren. This is where I was first afraid. I worried that I was somehow the cause of that, and that he had taken some danger from me, and passed it to Diana. As he explained, it turns out this wasn't the case, but that something this vision said did end up messing with Diana.
He went on to explain how, when he woke up, he found her holding a gun to some Doshan's head, and ended up having to talk her down. When Keren and Diana went to speak in private, she kept telling him that she wasn't worth saving, and that she couldn't be saved, and that he should kill her like the vision said he should. She was drunk, and unreasonable. Keren just kept telling her no, and taking whatever she threw at him. She threw quite a bit at him, it seems, and it eventually came to blows. He wouldn't hit back, though she expected him to. Eventually she shot him with a stun bolt, and fled to the wilds of that forsaken planet they're stationed on.
Waking up again, he found Diana gone, and "comandeered" a walker to go and find her. She wanted him to leave her there... dared him to abandon her... but he wouldn't. She turned her blaster on herself, but she never got the chance to fire. Another officer who was there, and had found her just before Keren arrived, shot her with a stunbolt before she pulled the trigger. They carted her back to the base, and took her to the med facility, but he hasn't been able to see her scince. To make matters worse, some mando-trash that's moved in started asking a bunch of questions, which apperantly Keren had no choice but to answer. I don't know much of what that's about, but this much is clear- Diana doesn't like them, and now they know a bunch of her secrets, and Keren had to be the one to tell them. That... is not going to be a popular move.
With all this, I hope that Keren can handle being hated for a while. I know he'll never give up on her. Not the Keren I know. I told him so, even if he seemed to have his doubts. I couldn't bear to hear him talking like me, so I whacked him one, and told him to keep on being a noble cuss.. paraphrasing ..because ... Because, well, it just ain't right for him to be anything different. I can't do much of a job explaining it now, and I couldn't do a much better one explaining it then. He was worried for having all the wrong weaknesses, but his strength doesn't come from being fast, strong, and deadly. I don't know what it comes from, but I know he's got something that I don't have or understand that doesn't come from this side of the force. I'm not talking about light or dark sides, I'm talking about here or there sides. It's the there side that's makes him stronger than he can imagine, where it counts, and without it, he'd just another mortal schmuck like me.
I guess when I stop making sense, that's when I have to cut the entry off. Well.. it's about that time now. Maybe I'll make more sense in the morning.
